Position Summary
The Head of Training will take ownership of one of the most important parts of our growing Operations team: preparing our Traveling Estate Buyers and Traveling Marketing & Sales Associates to succeed in the field. This role will lead the new hire training experience from the classroom to live buying events, combining hands-on instruction, coaching, assessments, and real-world learning to build confident and capable team members.
Working closely with Operations leadership and subject matter experts, the Head of Training will turn their expertise into consistent, practical, and engaging training programs. This person will own and continuously improve our curriculum and learning resources, maximize the use of our Learning Management System (LMS), evaluate training effectiveness, and help ensure our teams are learning and operating to the same high standards.

Essential Responsibilities
· Lead and facilitate onboarding and training programs for Traveling Estate Buyers, Marketing & Sales Associates, and other operational roles as assigned.
· Collaborate with Operations leadership and subject matter experts to develop, maintain, and continuously improve training curriculum, materials, and learning resources.
· Evaluate employee progress throughout the onboarding process and partner with Operations leadership to assess readiness for independent job performance.
· Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Stratus's Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring effective utilization and accurate training records.
· Develop and implement standardized training processes that promote consistency, knowledge retention, and operational excellence across the Operations team.
· Measure the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements based on employee performance, operational feedback, and business needs.
· Partner with leaders across the organization to support ongoing learning initiatives, professional development, and department-specific training programs.
· Stay informed of adult learning principles, instructional best practices, and emerging training technologies to recommend enhancements to the Company's learning programs.
· Work directly with the Operations team to maintain training documentation, standard operating procedures, and related materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of operational and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Required
· 5+ years of experience in corporate learning and development, training, instructional design, or similar role.
· Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating instructor-led training programs.
· Excellent presentation, communication, and coaching skills.
Preferred
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
· Experienced with Learning Management Systems (LMS); Paychex Learning experience is a plus.
· Strong project management and organizational abilities.
· Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment where processes are evolving quickly.
· Experience working in or supporting organizations within the jewelry, luxury goods, estate buying, pawn, or comparable specialty retail industries.
ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPDT), Certified Training Professional (CTP), or another Instructional Design credentials.
