Summary: The Electro-Mechanical Switchgear Engineer will lead the engineering team in the research, development, design and production of projects related to switchgear, power distribution or OEM efforts. These projects contain efforts in the areas of sheet metal enclosures, Copper Busway, electrical metering transformers, disconnects, molded case breakers, high amperage electrical service design among others. The engineer will interface with clients, vendors, sales team members, engineers and the production team. There will be exposure to all aspects of the development cycle, from inception to release and post-market surveillance.
The Candidate will be expected to work full-time (Monday-Friday, approx. 40 hrs./week)
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position will begin as soon as September 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Study and learn the electrical enclosure and switchgear business, Nav-Tech products, and some manufacturing techniques
- Establish and maintain processes for managing the electrical switchgear package for construction projects
- Be able to understand the function of the packages being produced including developing the ability to make design changes in order to expedite projects or provide advantages to selecting a Nav-Tech offering
- Orchestrate complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to align project goals with business objectives
- Use 2D/3D CAD software to create models and drawings for customer projects and related tooling
- Serve as the primary client liaison, fostering strong relationships and ensuring project success
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
- Prepare and present detailed project reports, highlighting key performance metrics and milestones
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards i.e. NEC
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the project team
- Provide support for production when needed and exploratory development projects
- Write test protocols, standard operating procedures and provide support for product testing
- Write final test reports for completed product testing
- Interact collaboratively with all Nav-Tech team members
- Conduct literature searches as well as field visits and compile results in concise form
- Be hands on in building different products and production runs for customer orders
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Proven track record in managing manufacturing equipment implementation projects, particularly in electro-mechanical area such as power distribution
- Knowledge of power distribution equipment and emerging technologies
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while interfacing with production teams
- 3D CAD software experience required.
- Ability to learn new software packages as needed.
- Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to other individuals and teams.
- Some exposure to, knowledge of, or interest in electrical/mechanical engineering principles.
- Must be able to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong mechanical hands on and creative ability.
- Some exposure to, and knowledge of, mechanical design and manufacturing processes and environments.
- Some understanding of quality standards, and manufacturing operations and how those departments relate to R&D mechanical engineering.
- Basic understanding of GD&T is preferred, but not required.

Education/Experience:
Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline at an accredited university preferred.
Candidates that demonstrate relevant experience without a formal degree will be considered
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, line drawings, technical procedures, or product governing regulations. Ability to write test reports and procedures, and product manuals. Ability to effectively present information, test results and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, or the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to perform engineering calculations for static and dynamic systems. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as averages, and standard deviations, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Should be able to apply the concepts of calculus, algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in 3D CAD software. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ERP or WMS.
Salary commensurate with experience.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
