Hog Slat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of parts, equipment and turn-key construction to the swine & poultry industries is seeking an individual with strong leadership and critical thinking skills to join our team as a Distribution Center Supervisor at our distribution center in Humboldt, Iowa.
The IDEAL CANDIDATE for this position will be a capable leader of people with outstanding communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction, positive reinforcement, and constructive feedback.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Foster a relationship with all employees in the department based on professionalism and mutual respect.
- Ensure a safe working environment, including the warehouse and outside, yard area.
- Be able to make decisions on scheduling and use of labor to assure deadlines are met and equipment and labor is used most efficiently.
- Ensure Company housekeeping expectations are met by department personnel. Maintain a clean warehouse and orderly yard at all times.
- Provide a superior level of customer service so issues such as shipping and recieving errors and incomplete products, and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record, in accordance with Company policy.
- Consistent communication with internal and external customers and vendors
- Monitor and determine appropriate use of labor so that priorities and deadlines are met.
- Interaction with other departments to assure facility needs and goals are met daily.
- Continuously monitor warehouse personnel in terms of accuracy of products and counts.
- Manage and direct products leaving and entering the facility and ensure the proper paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure the proper use of the time clock by department personnel.
- Attend weekly manager meeting to discuss any problems or situations, and Work Schedule with other Supervisors.
- Direct and maintain warehouse equipment, including plumbing and electrical systems, snow removal, lawn care, etc.
