Join RM Mechanical Inc as a Robotic Total Station (RTS) Operator in the US, where you will play a vital role in precision measurement and construction accuracy. Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate Robotic Total Stations (Trimble).
- Establish control points, benchmarks, and layout lines.
- Perform layout for piping, ductwork, equipment pads, embeds, and utilities.
- Validate existing conditions and perform as-built layout checks.
- Import/export points from BIM models, CAD, or digital plans.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of layout tasks.
- Track revisions and update layout data.
- Maintain RTS equipment, prisms, tripods, and accessories.
- Follow all safety protocols and coordinate with field leaders.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and BIM point files.
- Strong spatial awareness and data accuracy.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry 40+ lbs of equipment.
- Walk uneven terrain and access mechanical spaces.
- Stand for extended layout tasks.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Industrial/commercial mechanical layout experience.
- BIM/VDC or CAD background.
- RTS network setup or advanced layout workflow experience.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- 2+ years experience with surveying, layout, or mechanical layout.
- Experience with RTS (Trimble RTS series, Leica TS16, Topcon GT, etc.).
- Understanding of mechanical systems.
