District Manager – Restaurants

About the Role
- VMG is seeking an experienced District Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple restaurant locations in the Dothan market. This is a field-based leadership role, not an office position. You will spend most of your time visiting restaurant locations, working directly with Restaurant Managers, coaching teams, solving operational challenges, and ensuring each location meets company performance standards.
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys being in restaurants, developing people, improving operations, and driving sales and profitability across multiple locations.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Restaurant Operations
- Visit assigned restaurant locations regularly to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Monitor food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and overall guest experience.
- Ensure all locations follow company procedures, food safety standards, and health department regulations.
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective action plans.
Team Leadership & Development
- Directly supervise and support Restaurant Managers.
- Coach management teams on leadership, performance, and operational excellence.
- Assist with hiring, training, succession planning, and employee retention.
- Build strong teams and maintain a positive workplace culture.
- Financial Performance
- Review sales, labor costs, food costs, and profit-and-loss reports.
- Develop strategies to increase sales and improve profitability.
- Ensure restaurants operate within budget and control unnecessary expenses.
- Hold managers accountable for achieving operational and financial goals.
Business Growth
- Partner with restaurant teams to increase customer traffic and local market presence.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and restaurant performance.
- Support company initiatives, promotions, and growth strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of multi-unit restaurant management experience required.
- Experience in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), Fast Casual, Casual Dining, or Franchise Operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, and cost controls.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop management teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Daily travel between restaurant locations is required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during restaurant visits.
- Ability to assist with operational tasks when needed.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to urgent operational issues when necessary.
