Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Authorized Medication Assistive Personnel to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support the safe and effective administration of medications and assist with daily patient care activities across various care settings, including assisted living. Your expertise will help ensure residents and patients receive personalized, respectful, and high-quality care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately according to physician orders while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses using EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
- Assist with activities of daily living, including mobility support, catheter care, and other personal care tasks tailored to individual needs.
- Support patients with memory care needs by implementing specialized techniques for Alzheimer’s, dementia, and hospice care.
- Maintain detailed medical records, documenting medication administration, patient observations, and changes in condition with precision.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care plans are followed effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols related to medical procedures, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and infection control practices to promote a safe environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as QUICKMAR.
- Ability to perform medical tasks such as vital signs measurement, catheter care, and hospice or dementia-related activities confidently.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassion for seniors and individuals with complex health needs.
- Valid certification as an Authorized Medication Assistive Personnel or equivalent credential required; ongoing training in assisted medication administration is essential. Pay: $13.50 - $14.00 per hour
