Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets with enthusiasm, providing excellent customer service and clear communication about pet care procedures
- Assist with pet check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all pets are properly identified and documented
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques when necessary, dog handling skills, and animal behavior knowledge
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and pet boarding spaces with thorough sanitization practices
- Support pet care routines including feeding, walking, outdoor play, and administering basic medications when needed
- Monitor animal behavior during their stay to ensure safety and well-being; report any concerns promptly
- Perform heavy lifting tasks such as moving dog food, lifting dogs or supplies safely, up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience preferred but not required; a strong interest in animal health is essential
- Experience with pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Knowledge of kennel operations, pet grooming, animal restraint techniques, and pet boarding procedures is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions while caring for animals
- Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitization standards to ensure a safe pet care environment
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely; comfort with team lifting when necessary
