The Common Wheel is hiring Part-Time Mobile Automotive Technicians.
The Common Wheel is expanding deeper into Hampton Roads and is looking for 2 part-time Mobile Automotive Technicians to join our worker cooperative.
We are looking for someone for:
-Virginia Beach (Primary Territory)
-Portsmouth / Chesapeake (Primary Territory)
Each person also provides backup coverage for surrounding service areas when needed/ as available.
Compensation:
-$52.00 per flat-rate labor hour for independently assigned service calls
-Up to 144 hours of PTO per year (can take this as cash in lieu of PTO
-$4/hour in a 401k (can take this as cash in lieu as well)
-Voluntary two-technician assignments available under a separate compensation structure
-Flexible scheduling
-Profit sharing
Worker ownership:
Technicians who successfully complete probation become worker-owners of The Common Wheel with ownership rights and responsibilities under our Operating Agreement.
Applicants must be able to perform, without assistance or supervision, all of the following:
-Oil changes and routine maintenance
-Brake pads and rotors
-Brake fluid service
-Battery replacement
-Air filter replacement
-Spark plug replacement
-Serpentine belt replacement
-Cooling system service
-Alternator and starter replacement
-Wheel bearing and hub replacement
-Suspension and steering repairs
-Basic diagnostics using a scan tool
-Read and follow manufacturer repair procedures and torque specifications
Requirements:
-At least 21 years old
-Valid Virginia driver’s license (or another state if military spouse)
-Eligibility to work in Virginia
-Reliable transportation
-Automotive tools
-Good customer service skills
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-Ability to pass a background check
