Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide professional towing and roadside assistance services while delivering excellent customer service. Drivers will respond to service calls, transport vehicles safely, and maintain company equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently.
- Respond to towing, recovery, and roadside assistance calls.
- Secure and transport vehicles according to company procedures and safety regulations.
- Complete required paperwork and service documentation accurately.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude with customers.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies.
- Work assigned day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Cleanliness is mandatory for all trucks
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles across various locations.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring damage-free handling using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or other lifting tools when necessary.
- Conduct basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery method or identify potential issues.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate vehicle recoveries and provide updates on service status.
- Manage conflict situations professionally, maintaining a calm demeanor during challenging interactions with customers or other drivers.
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and related documentation for compliance and record-keeping purposes.
- Perform routine inspections of tow truck equipment and perform minor repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Dad Card (Driver Authorization Document) or ability to obtain one
- Ability to safely operate towing and recovery equipment , Operators responsible for completing electronic paperwork on smartphones
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and in varying weather conditions.
- Must be knowledgeable of the area
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Proven ability to operate manual transmissions and specialized tow truck equipment safely and efficiently.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience driving tow trucks or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
- Skilled in conflict management, customer service, and effective communication under pressure.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures, flatbed operations, and automotive repair tools.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting vehicles or heavy equipment safely; experience with forklifts is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to towing operations and vehicle recovery procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Tow Truck Operator License/Certification.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred DAD Card
- Previous towing, transportation, or recovery experience.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus.
