Position Summary:
The Carpenter is responsible for performing a variety of skilled carpentry tasks in support of commercial construction projects. This position requires knowledge of construction methods, the ability to read and interpret plans, and a commitment to producing quality workmanship while maintaining a safe and efficient job site. The Carpenter works collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, and other field personnel to complete projects on schedule and within company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carpentry and Construction
- Perform rough and finish carpentry on commercial construction projects.
- Install framing, doors, hardware, trim, cabinetry, blocking, drywall, and other structural and finish components.
- Measure, layout, cut, shape, and assemble wood, metal, and composite materials according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Build forms, scaffolding, temporary structures, and other construction supports as needed.
- Repair or replace damaged structural and finish components.
2. Project Execution
- Assist in preparing construction sites for daily operations.
- Coordinate work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure efficient workflow.
- Complete assigned tasks within project schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Communicate project progress and field issues to supervisors.
- Assist with punch list completion and project closeout activities.
3. Safety and Compliance
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
- Report accidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues immediately.
4. Equipment and Materials
- Operate carpentry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and securing construction materials.
- Minimize material waste through efficient planning and installation practices.
5. Customer Service
- Represent the company professionally on all job sites.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Respond respectfully to client questions and concerns while referring project decisions to management when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or vocational carpentry training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of carpentry experience preferred.
- Experience in commercial construction preferred.
- Experience with remodeling, renovations, and new construction is desirable.

Compensation
- Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience), typically ranging from $22-$28 per hour.
