About All Dogs Allowed:
All Dogs Allowed offers dog training and enrichment services, including group classes, private training, and day training. We pride ourselves on having a supportive and inclusive environment among staff and clients. Training conducted through ADA is done in a positive reinforcement style following the guidelines of the AVSAB. Other training opportunities are available for the right candidate such as private training and teaching group classes.
Head Day Trainer Position Description
Responsibilities:
- Opening Procedures: Prepare all kennels for incoming dogs, including filling water bowls, providing blankets for dogs without their own, and ensuring barriers are in place.
- Preparation: Prepare enrichment activities for the dogs (e.g., toppers, licki-mats, Kongs, icy treats, food puzzles) and organize treats for the day. Empty the dishwasher and start a new load if necessary to maintain a clean and functional workspace.
- Behavior Plans and Training: Develop individualized behavior plans for each dog and conduct training throughout the day, supported by the assistant trainer.
- Dog Arrival: Greet all incoming dogs and clients for the shift, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining records of their behavior.
- Recording Sessions: Record video of each training session with dogs, making detailed notes on observations that should be shared with other trainers.
- Documentation & Communication with Other Trainers: All trainers are expected to make other trainers aware of any updates, significant changes, etc. in any dog. Make a note in Busy Paws and include appropriate “tags” if necessary.
- Working Well with Others: Collaborate with the assistant trainer to ensure responsibilities are clear and observations are communicated during their sessions.
- Release and Cleaning: Release dogs to their owners, clean the kennels following cleaning protocols, and prepare them for the next set of dogs (if changing shifts)
- Client Communication and Support: Prepare and send detailed report cards, upload training session videos to all client folders, and respond to client emails within appropriate time frames.
- Consultations: Conduct consultations and take detailed notes
Requirements:
- History as a lead trainer or similar role.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of dog behavior, positive training techniques, and enrichment practices.
- Experience in working with moderate behavior cases, such as, reactivity, fear and anxiety
- Confidence in managing all dog interactions, including dog-to-dog introductions and playgroups.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Experience in creating and executing detailed behavior plans.
- Comfortability in video recording and documenting training sessions.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and maintaining a clean, safe environment for dogs.
- Punctuality and professionalism is to be expected of all ADA employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification in Dog Training (e.g. KPA, IAABC, PPAB, CCPDT or equivalent).
- All staff strongly encouraged to work towards, obtain, and maintain a certification
- Experience in dog behavior modification and enrichment techniques.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain positive client relationships.
Assistant Day Trainer Position Description
Responsibilities:
- Preparation: Prepare enrichment activities for the dogs (e.g., toppers, licki-mats, Kongs, icy treats, food puzzles) and organize treats for the day. Empty the dishwasher and start a new load if necessary to maintain a clean and functional workspace. Re-stock necessities, such as paper towels, toilet paper, enrichment tools, cleaning supplies, etc.
- Dog Arrival: Assist Head trainer with bringing dogs and their belongings into the kennel room safely.
- Working Well With Others: Collaborate with the Head trainer to ensure responsibilities are clear and observations are communicated during their sessions.
- Documentation & Communicating with Other Trainers: All trainers are expected to make other trainers aware of any updates, significant changes, etc. in the dog. Recording Sessions: Record video of each training session with dogs, making detailed notes on observations that should be shared with all trainers.
- Cleaning: Clean day training room and kennels up to safety standards for decreasing spread of illnesses
Requirements:
- Experience with R+ training and good understanding of basic mechanics and handling.
- Understanding of dog behavior, body language, and enrichment practices.
- Willingness to work with moderate behavior cases, such as reactivity, fear and anxiety.
- Confidence in assisting with all dog interactions, including dog-to-dog introductions and playgroups.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Comfortability in video recording and documenting training sessions.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and maintaining a clean, safe environment for dogs.
