Position Summary
MES Surgery Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated RN to join our team at a high-volume ophthalmology ambulatory surgery center. This position encompasses a rotating scope of practice including OR Circulator, Preoperative Care, and Post-Anesthesia Recovery roles, offering variety and an engaging clinical environment for experienced perioperative nurses. Perioperative/ OR experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
OR Circulator
- Serve as the patient advocate and primary non-sterile team member within the operative suite
- Coordinate intraoperative nursing care in collaboration with the surgical and anesthesia teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of intraoperative events, counts, and patient status throughout the procedure
- Ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant surgical environment in accordance with AORN standards and facility policy
Pre-operative Care
- Conduct preoperative nursing assessments, including patient history review, medication reconciliation, and baseline vital sign documentation
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures in accordance with facility protocols and surgeon preferences
- Provide patient and family education regarding the surgical experience, anesthesia, and perioperative expectations
- Ensure informed consent is obtained and all preoperative checklist items are complete prior to transfer to the operative suite
Post-Anesthesia Recovery (PACU)
- Receive and assess patients upon arrival to the recovery area, establishing baseline status and continuity of care from the OR team
- Monitor and document patient recovery progress, including vital signs, pain management, neurological status, and anesthesia emergence
- Identify and promptly communicate any signs of postoperative complications to the surgeon or anesthesia provider
- Provide individualized nursing care based on the patient's surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered
- Prepare patients and caregivers for discharge through comprehensive education, written instructions, and follow-up guidance
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted RN licensure in the State of Montana
- Current BLS at time of hire, ACLS
- Perioperative or surgical nursing experience preferred
- Strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and patient-centered care approach

Pay: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour
