Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant with experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and hands-on experience with Microsoft Access, Sage accounting software, and Crystal Reports. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting production-related accounting, and delivering insightful financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger management
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies
- Monitor and analyze cost accounting, including standard costs, variances, and inventory valuation
- Support production accounting, including work-in-progress (WIP) tracking and finished goods reconciliation
- Analyze manufacturing costs and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reports using Crystal Reports
- Utilize Microsoft Access to manage and analyze financial and operational data
- Generate financial and operational reports to support management decision-making
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable oversight as needed
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with filings
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and system efficiencies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, procurement, operations) to ensure accurate financial reporting
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Sage accounting software
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access
- Experience creating and maintaining reports using Crystal Reports
- Solid understanding of cost accounting and inventory accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis
