Ophthalmic Technician
Wolchok Eye Associates, P.A. is seeking a friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our busy, patient-focused ophthalmology practice in Jacksonville, Florida.

Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical and ocular histories.
- Perform visual acuity testing and other preliminary vision assessments.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, including:
- Autorefraction
- Lensometry
- Tonometry
- Visual fields
- OCT
- Fundus photography
- Additional ophthalmic testing as needed
- Instill eye drops as directed.
- Document findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Assist the physician during patient examinations and minor office procedures.
- Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring an efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician is preferred but not required.
- Experience in ophthalmology, optometry, or another medical specialty is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Comfortable working with computers and electronic medical records.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Certification
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) certification is highly valued.
Candidates with current ophthalmic certification and relevant experience will be considered for a higher starting pay based on qualifications.
