Ottawa Elementary School District has five paraprofessional openings for the upcoming school year. The current openings are at McKinley Elementary School (K-4), Lincoln Elementary School (Pk-4), Central Intermediate School (5th/6th), and Shepherd Middle School. The open positions are in self-contained special education classrooms working with students on their Lifeskills/functional goals, emotional/behavioral goals, or academic goals.
Paraprofessionals work a seven hour day which closely follows the school calendar (approximately 180 days). Candidates must have a high school diploma, or GED, be at least eighteen years old and be able to pass a background check.
Staff work 180 days but are paid for an additional 12 holidays bringing the number of total paid work days up to 192. The contract for the 2026-27 school year is currently being negotiated. More information will be provided at the interviews.
