Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Assistant General Manager for Front of the House to lead the hospitality team at The Melting Pot with enthusiasm and professionalism. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations of the front-of-house team, ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth restaurant flow, and efficient management of staff and resources. Duties
- Lead-by-example and supervise front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, bartenders and support team members in projecting a polished, professional appearance and attitude to our guests while fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Ensure outstanding customer service by addressing guest needs promptly and professionally, resolving issues efficiently to maximize satisfaction
- Oversee daily restaurant operations such as shift management, seating arrangements, and ensuring timely food delivery to guests
- Manage inventory control for front-of-house supplies, including POS and reservation systems .
- Train staff on food safety protocols, proper food handling techniques, and service standards to uphold health regulations and quality assurance
- Conduct staff training sessions on hospitality management practices, team leadership, and managerial communication skills
- Analyze profit and loss statements to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost control measures while maintaining high service standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in casual or fine dining settings with a strong background in restaurant management
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with a focus on team management, training & development, and shift oversight
- Familiarity with TOAST POS system and Open Table reservation system.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking processes, food safety management, and food industry standards including fine dining or banquet experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and food production processes effectively
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams confidently and manage managerial responsibilities seamlessly
- Basic math skills for cash handling, profit analysis, and budgeting purposes
- Hospitality management or hotel experience is a plus; previous assistant manager experience highly desirable
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering exceptional customer service
Candidates should be aware that 5-7 weeks of out-of-town paid training are required.
