POSITION SUMMARY
Provides for the administrative support of the nursing department while preparing medical records for new admissions and coordinating clinical appointments and information to/from staff/families and outside agencies. Appropriately support and implement Center’s Treatment Philosophy of Dignity, Respect and Understanding within scope of position. Expected to learn the basic knowledge and skills for Collaborative Problem Solving.

EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE

HS diploma or equivalent

One to three months related experience and/or training

Two years secretarial experience with basic knowledge of word processing and other applicable programs

Typing skills of at least 45 wpm
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

CPR; preferred

SAMA; preferred
THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Assist supervisor with admission, greeting families and directing them to units

Forward intake calls to intake personnel in a timely manner
- Transcribes doctor's orders/consults on Kardex and MARS for new admissions

Completes lab request form and schedules appointments for diagnostic exams

Provides information to other department, families, staff regarding patients

Performs general administrative duties for nursing and intake
- Files reports ensuring appropriate dissemination of information

Maintains supply of current forms and orders as necessary
