Job Title: Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor
Starting Rate: $15.00 per hour
Program Hours: Varies but includes evenings and weekends based on program needs
Instructs group water exercise classes. Provides excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Leads group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
- Conducts energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.

Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.

Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Keep accurate class attendance records.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency.

CPR/AED/1st Aid – must obtain within first 60 days of employment

Experience in leading or participating in group water wellness programs

Experience teaching or leading groups

Experience instructing group water fitness classes preferred

Ability to conduct classes and activities relating to fitness

Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
