We provide on-the-job training that offers a wealth of varied experiences with a strong level of contact and interaction with clients and partners at the firm.
Basic Purpose:
· Assist Tax department with processing of tax returns and handling advanced administrative duties, tasks and projects.
· Must be an adaptable self-starter with ability to work independently and with co-workers.
· Must be resourceful, have ability to use good judgment, possess knowledge of business etiquette.
· Must be able to prioritize work, solve problems and organize their own time with minimal supervision.
Major Responsibilities:
- Set up new tax projects and roll current projects from year to year.
- Login projects, scan and save client information for return preparation.
- Process business and individual tax returns/forms including assembly and binding.
- Utilize firm determined processes and procedures and firm tracking systems to ensure all data is entered, correct and up to date.
- Release of electronic returns to government entities.
- Client contact and follow up to obtain signatures and delivery of returns.
- Maintain and track status of tax projects and returns, communicate status.
- Assist in the timely management of all communications with a variety of people, whether written, via telephone, or e-mail.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, initiative, and independence in supporting a wide variety of complex issues among diverse groups of people within the organization.
- Work independently or assist in gathering data and assembling it appropriately for use in meetings.
- Interact with clients by phone and compose correspondence by email.
- Assist with setting up new clients and maintaining existing client information in system.
- Track outgoing mail & faxes, maintain mail log, and deliver to post office or FedEx when necessary.
- Provide support to other administrative staff, reception, and phones as needed.
- Coordinate engagement letter templates and tax organizers– update, mail merge, print, assemble, and mail.

- Return Status Reports & upcoming deadlines
As Needed Assignments:
- Engagement Letters
- New client set up in CCH and network drives
- Communication with clients regarding needs/inquiries
- Compile tax packet documents and prep for mailing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Quick learner of new software packages
- Reliable and dependable team player
Training and Experience:
- Associate degree or vocational training; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior tax processing experience preferred
