American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 41-bed Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Work on a 41-bed inpatient Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive/Respiratory Care unit located on the fourth floor of the hospital
-
Patient population includes medical and surgical patients with cardiac dysrhythmia, respiratory illness, and/or significantly altered hemodynamics requiring cardiac monitoring

Telemetry monitoring required for applicable patients

Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

13-week contract

Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state license currently in hand

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred

Must provide date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, treatment implementation, patient and family education, and discharge coordination

Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity
-
Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors completion of delegated care by team members
-
Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction

No prior nursing experience required; new nurses are welcome to apply
