- Work in the absence of a regular teacher in classrooms throughout the assigned building and district in all grade levels, kindergarten through grade 12.

Teach students academic, social and motor skills in accordance with existing lesson plans and school procedures.

Assign lessons and utilize teaching technology, as provided by the classroom teacher.

Report in writing the day’s activities at the conclusion of each day and provide other feedback as requested by the teacher and/or building principal.

Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom teacher.

Maintain appropriate student behavior in class and at other times during the school day as requested.

Participate in mandatory professional development as it pertains to the position.

Perform student health and safety related tasks necessary for a particular student or students including, but not limited to, health care services related to students with diabetes, basic life support, therapeutic, and sanitary service, and taking other actions reasonably necessary to prevent harm or injury to a student as determined by the student’s Individual Health Plan (IHP), Individual Education Plan (IEP), or 504 Plan.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and other district administrators.
Education: Valid Indiana Substitute Teacher Permit. Previous experience working with school-aged students, preferred.
