American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment, requiring 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency, on a 13-week day shift contract.

14-bed overflow Med/Surg Tele unit housed within a GI Endoscopy space, serving ED boarder patients
-
Patient census may fluctuate based on ED boarder demand
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
-
Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
-
Floating required to care for Med/Surg patients based on unit turn
-
On-call may be required depending on staffing needs
-
Epic EMR — experience preferred
-
LPNs may not assume charge assignment or act as a resource in the GI/Endoscopy (GIOF) or Med/Surg areas
-
Current LPN/LVN license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience required
-
Med/Surg or Tele experience required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred

Skills required include: blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion (male and female), NG/G-tube management, IM and SQ injections, IV skills, oxygen administration (nasal cannula, face mask), vital sign monitoring, isolation precautions, and admission of patients

Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Responsibilities include communication of patient status changes to RN/MD using verbal report for standard transfers/admissions; SBAR communication protocol used for ED patients

Previous charge experience is preferred

Minimal RTO requests preferred — all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
