UPK Teacher
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and dedicated certified Universal Pre-K (UPK) Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position includes a 5-hour school day with students and up to 1.5 hours of daily preparation time, which may be used for lesson planning, classroom setup, documentation, and other professional responsibilities as determined by the teacher’s workflow and classroom needs. This position is for the 2026–2027 school year.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons aligned with UPK standards and the Creative Curriculum
- Support children’s development in language, literacy, math, social-emotional, and motor skills
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate student records
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings
Qualifications
- NYS Early Childhood Teacher Certification
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Knowledge of child development and early learning standards
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
