The Intervention Aide works collaboratively with the Student Services Department, intervention specialists, classroom teachers, and administrators to provide academic and behavioral support for students receiving special education services. This position assists in implementing individualized interventions, promoting positive student behavior, and helping students access instruction in both general education and specialized settings.

Provide direct academic and behavioral support to students with disabilities in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.

Implement interventions and accommodations as directed by intervention specialists and teachers.

Reinforce behavioral expectations and utilize positive behavior support strategies.

Assist with implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the supervision of certified staff.

Support students in developing independence, social skills, and self-regulation strategies.

Collect and document student intervention and behavior data as assigned.

Collaborate with teachers, intervention specialists, related service providers, and administrators to support student success.

Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties as needed.

Maintain confidentiality of all student records and information.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Coordinator or administration.

High school diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred.

Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) certification - a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis (40 hour course)
- Experience working with children, particularly students with disabilities or behavioral needs, preferred.

Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students.

Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Training or experience in behavior management, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed practices, or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

Experience implementing behavioral interventions in a school setting.

Knowledge of special education services and instructional support.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and actively supervise students throughout the school day.

Ability to respond quickly in emergency or behavioral situations.
