Bay Area Council, Scouting America is a nonprofit organization headquarted in Galveston, Texas, serving the communities of Galveston and Brazoria counties dedicated to youth through character-building programs, leadership development, and community engagement. We partner with families, schools, and community organizations to provide programs for boys and girls that help build confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Brazoria County Service Area Position Open - Professional role focused on supporting youth programs, growing membership, building community relationships, fundraising and assisting with volunteer-led initiatives across the service area. Community-based that requires regular in-person engagement and is not eligible for remote work. This position has advancement opportunities for a professional at the beginning of their management or change in career, responsible for supporting senior executives and learning essential business operations in nonprofit work, youth development, community outreach, recruitment and program coordination.
Key Responsibilities
· Build relationships with local schools, community organizations, and civic leaders.
· Coordinate and attend in-person events, meetings, and activities.
· Support membership growth through community outreach and engagement.
· Recruit new families and youth into the various Scouting programs.
· Assist with fundraising campaigns and donor relationship efforts.
· Track and achieve progress toward program, membership, and fundraising goals.
· Work directly with volunteers to support the delivery of youth programs.
· Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers within the district service area.
· Provide quality consistent communication and administrative support to volunteers and partners.
· Bring people and resources together to identify, recruit, train, guide and inspire to become involved in youth programs.
· Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.

· Experience in customer service, sales, fundraising, marketing, planning, supervision or volunteer coordination is helpful but not required.
· Experience with the Scouting programs is helpful but not required.

Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (transcript with the date degree conferred stated is required for employment).
Associates degree may be considered for a non-commissioned position.
Qualifications
· Must be at least 21 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law.
· Ability to work varied hours, including evening activities and weekend work, frequently required for program delivery to achieve success.
· Ability to travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks.
· Ability to work onsite with regular local travel.
· Reliable transportation required.
· Willingness to support the mission and values of Scouting America.
· Successful completion of background screening and compliance requirements.
