Job Description:
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee and optimize quality management systems within our plastic injection molding manufacturing facility. This is a 2nd shift role. The ideal candidate bridges engineering and production, driving continuous improvement, resolving defects, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. A bachelor's degree is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve quality control plans, inspection criteria, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for plastic injection molding.
- Lead Corrective and Preventive Action processes to investigate manufacturing defects and molding flaws.
- Inspect and validate incoming raw materials, including resin pellets and hardware components.
- Executing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions as part of Advanced Product Quality Planning.
- Utilize precision measurement equipment (CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators) to perform dimensional layouts and verification on complex assemblies and molded parts.
- Conduct regular internal process audits on the manufacturing floor to ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements.
- Analyze production data and monitor process capability and drive scrap reduction initiatives.
- Support and lead quality activities during 2nd shift production, serving as the on-floor quality resource when engineering/day-shift staff are unavailable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing facility utilizing plastic injection molding.
- Hands-on experience with precision measurement/metrology equipment (CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
- Availability to work 2nd shift.
Pay: From $72,000.00 per year
