Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Lingala Language Experts to support AI Training and evaluation initiatives. In this role, you will help improve next-generation AI systems by applying your expertise in Lingala and English transcription, translation, and linguistic analysis.
This is not a traditional translation role. Contributors will work on AI training and evaluation workflows designed to improve how AI systems understand, interpret, and generate Lingala-language content in real-world contexts.
No prior AI experience is required. What matters most is strong bilingual proficiency, linguistic accuracy, cultural understanding, and the ability to evaluate language quality with precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe Lingala video content with high accuracy and complete fidelity to spoken language.
- Identify and annotate timestamps while capturing speaker intent, tone, and emotional nuance.
- Analyze grammar, syntax, tone, and overall linguistic structure in both Lingala and English.
- Define and explain conceptual meanings of words and phrases, including cultural and contextual interpretations.
- Perform complex linguistic tasks to support training and refinement of AI language models.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure high-quality, consistent, and accurate deliverables.
- Contribute to improving multilingual datasets used in AI training and evaluation.
- Maintain a consistent workload of at least 15 hours per week while ensuring high-quality output.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in Lingala and English.
- Strong experience in transcription, translation, localization, or linguistic analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially in capturing tone, emotion, and linguistic nuance.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills applied to language-related tasks.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven reliability in meeting consistent weekly workload requirements.
- Experience with structured annotation or language data workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in linguistics, language education, translation studies, or related fields.
- Experience contributing to AI training, NLP, or language annotation projects.
- Familiarity with transcription standards and best practices in linguistic data labeling.
