Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems across various property types. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and ventilation equipment.
- Maintain refrigeration systems such as ammonia refrigeration units and other commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic devices.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems and refrigeration setups as needed.
- Document all service activities thoroughly and communicate findings clearly to clients or management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC or refrigeration environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems and understanding of HVAC/R industry standards.
- Ability to operate field service tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices effectively.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC/refrigeration setups is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred.
- Construction background or property maintenance experience is advantageous.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with appliance repair is beneficial.
