Assistant coaches are responsible for the overall development and advancement of a competitive athletic program while demonstrating high moral and ethical standards and positive sportsmanship.
Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- The Assistant Coach serves in the College Athletic Department, under the supervision of the Head Coach.
- The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the soccer program.
- The Assistant Coach is responsible for helping to recruit players, holding tryouts and to assist in coaching the intercollegiate team at Bryant & Stratton College.
- The Assistant Coach is expected to become knowledgeable of all The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) rules, including student-athlete eligibility requirements.
- The assistant coach must travel with the team unless alternate arrangements have been approved by the Athletic Director and Head Coach.
- As representatives of the College, all coaches and student-athletes must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Coach to supervise staff and student-athletes while traveling to ensure the safety of staff and student-athletes.
- The Assistant Coach will assist with any promotion and marketing as assigned by the Head Coach.
- The Assistant Coach must promote the academic success of student-athletes to include monitoring the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met; and encourages student-athletes to maintain a high academic standard.
- Flexible hours for practicing and recruiting will be needed.
- Assisting with scheduling, organizing, supervising, and conducting all practices and games.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
Desired: Coaching experience
Desired: College recruiting experience
Desired: Familiar with the Syracuse area high schools and local teams First aid/CPR certification is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and leadership skills required.
Must be able to serve as a positive role model for young adults.
Familiarity with USCAA rules and regulations is a plus.
Hours vary from day, evening, weekends, holidays to best fit the needs of the team
Salary:
Stipend of $1,000-$2,000
