Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and motivated Assistant Director to join our team! The ideal candidate must be willing to obtain any required training within the first 90 days of employment, including CPR/First Aid, Fire Safety, and 10-hour Health & Safety training. Additional state-required trainings may be required throughout employment.
The Assistant Director will help oversee daily center operations while supporting staff, children, and families in maintaining a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment. This position requires strong leadership, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills. Experience in childcare administration, licensing regulations, and parent communication is preferred. Willingness to assist with classroom coverage and transportation needs, including driving a van carrying up to 14 children, is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily management and operation of the childcare center
- Support and mentor teachers to ensure classroom quality and compliance
- Maintain compliance with licensing regulations, center policies, and safety procedures
- Assist with staff scheduling, attendance tracking, and classroom ratios
- Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and staff
- Help manage enrollment, tours, and family accounts as needed
- Monitor classrooms to ensure active supervision and proper curriculum implementation
- Assist with incident reports, documentation, and state-required reporting procedures
- Support food program requirements and ensure CACFP guidelines are followed when applicable
- Help maintain organization of center records, supplies, and inventory
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain proper ratios and support staff
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Assist with special events, trainings, and center activities
Qualifications
- Previous childcare leadership or administrative experience preferred
- Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and classroom management
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with parent communication and conflict resolution preferred
- Familiarity with Procare or other childcare management systems is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Must have a genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting children, families, and staff

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
