Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, and ensuring the safe movement of goods throughout the warehouse. Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lift trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques while adhering to heavy lifting guidelines.
- Pick orders accurately using barcode scanning for logistics, order pickers, and manual order picking methods to fulfill customer orders promptly.
- Manage inventory by conducting regular cycle counts, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and documenting all transactions thoroughly.
- Perform routine equipment repairs or notify maintenance teams of mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for efficient storage and retrieval while following warehouse safety standards in production environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklift types such as Sit-down or stand up etc.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management practices, and barcode scanning technology.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while following OSHA safety standards.
- Basic math skills for measuring quantities, reading labels, and managing inventory data accurately.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving procedures and materials handling best practices.
- Warehouse experience with order picking, load & unload activities, and warehouse distribution processes preferred.
- Valid certification for forklift operation (e.g., OSHA-compliant forklift license) is required; additional certifications such as warehouse supervisor experience or equipment repair knowledge are a plus.
