Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapy license in Maryland (MD OT License)
- Experience or strong interest in working within school settings
- Understanding of IEP processes and provision of therapy within public school frameworks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating effectively with educators, families, and staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to serve varied caseloads across elementary and/or secondary student populations
- Commitment to fostering independence and enhancing students’ educational experiences
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized intervention plans, and deliver targeted therapy to students with diverse needs
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to align therapy goals with academic and social objectives
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation for student progress and compliance
- Offer consultative support to classroom teachers and staff, ensuring strategies and accommodations are seamlessly implemented
- Engage families in the therapeutic process, providing resources and updates as needed to support student growth
