Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through sanding, scraping, caulking, plastering, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply coatings using various techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (conventional and airless), and construction spray painting to achieve smooth, even coverage
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately execute painting projects according to design requirements
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding safely to reach high or difficult areas while adhering to all safety regulations and protocols
- Select appropriate paints and coatings based on surface type and project needs; incorporate color theory principles for aesthetic harmony
- Perform structural painting tasks such as stucco application, masonry finishing, framing touch-ups, and industrial coating projects
- Conduct surface preparation for construction painting including sanding, priming, masking, and surface repairs like masonry or plastering
- Install fixtures or trim carpentry where needed to complete detailed finishing work in renovation or remodeling projects
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety protocol adherence including respiratory protection measures during spray applications
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings and ensure project specifications are met efficiently
- Conduct visual color comparisons to match paint shades accurately during restoration or renovation projects
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential painting with knowledge of interior and exterior surface treatments
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations including respiratory protection standards
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately for precise application of coatings
- Experience with surface preparation techniques such as sanding, caulking, plastering, masonry work, and stucco application
- Knowledge of color theory principles for achieving desired aesthetic effects in various environments
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to paint quantities and coverage estimates
- Hands-on experience with renovation projects involving fixture installation or frame carpentry is advantageous
- Valid construction site experience with an emphasis on safety protocol adherence in diverse environments
- Additional handyman skills such as concrete finishing or masonry work are beneficial
