Job Description
This position will be in the Distribution Planning Division. The Consultant will perform studies to determine solutions for a wide range of issues on power quality, systems and grids, ensuring efficiency and timeliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in proposal writing/bid development.

Support projects as required by partner companies.

Provides technical documentation and review for business proposals.

Analyze and research novel approaches.

Understands how and why tasks are performed in the context of the current project.

Perform tasks and services as required by assigned projects.

Demonstrates growth mindset by learning new skills, software, and other educational opportunities.

Ability to perform work in a timely manner with an adequate level of supervision.

Complete work by assigned date.

Collaborate with peers (as needed) to develop and complete work products.

Participates in team meetings and business calls.

Presents technical work in assigned business meetings.

Manages time within construction of assignments.

Attends conferences and meetings with learning, business, and development objectives.

Enters time worked in BigTime software on a regular basis and submits every Friday by close of business.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Abilities Required

Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering from An Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Advanced skill development in Microsoft Office and other applications.

Effective communication skills and providing status updates or any issues with current work assignments.

Ability to work as an individual in a team-oriented environment.

Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.

Self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy, as well as technically competent.

Demonstrated time management skills.

Ability to constructively work on multiple tasks.

Ability to travel up to 5%. Overnight stay may be required.
Skills and Abilities Preferred, but not Required

Basic understanding of fundamental electrical and power engineering theory and applications.

Physical Functions: Physical requirements involve performing general office activities. The role will also require the incumbent to sit for long periods of time.

The Consultant position is an entry level in the Consulting Division and affords the opportunity for advancement. The Consultant will perform tasks under close supervision.
