Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or managing chronic conditions. You will play a crucial role in enhancing patient mobility, alleviating pain, and promoting overall wellness in our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and various therapeutic techniques. Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients
Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities
Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising therapist
Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols and home exercise programs
Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes
Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Utilize knowledge of trigger point therapy, pediatrics, geriatrics, and other specialized techniques as needed
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a PTA
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Experience in outpatient settings preferred; acute care experience is a plus
Familiarity with discharge planning processes
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Compassionate approach to patient care with a commitment to improving patient quality of life
Previous experience with trigger point therapy is advantageous but not mandatory
