We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Bus Driver and After-School Teacher. This versatile role combines the responsibility of safely transporting children to and from school or activities with engaging in educational and recreational activities that promote childhood development. Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses or activity vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Supervise children during transportation, ensuring proper behavior and child supervision at all times.
- Assist in loading and unloading children, providing support for those with special needs or additional assistance requirements.
- Plan, develop, and facilitate engaging after-school programs, including youth group activities, arts, crafts, sports, and educational games.
- Maintain a safe environment by implementing behavior management strategies and following first aid protocols when necessary.
- Conduct regular safety checks on vehicles and activity spaces to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to promote a positive experience for all participants.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols.
- Experience with special education needs or childhood development programs is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead outdoor activities and work comfortably in outdoor environments.
- Excellent child supervision skills coupled with patience and empathy.
- Demonstrated team leadership abilities and experience facilitating youth group activities or teaching young children.
- Knowledge of tutoring techniques, daycare operations, babysitting experience, or theater experience related to working with students is a plus.
