This role requires reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to the safety and care of our passengers—especially school-aged children.
Position Overview
As a Transportation Driver, you'll play a vital role in safely transporting a variety of passengers—including school children, individuals requiring wheelchair assistance, and the general public. Punctuality, courtesy, and a calm demeanor are essential as you represent our company in the community.
Primary Responsibilities (In Order of Priority):
1. School Transport (Top Priority)
- Safely and punctually transport school children to and from school
- Follow strict schedules, designated routes, and safety protocols
- Build trust with parents, guardians, and school staff through clear, respectful communication
- Prioritize the safety and comfort of students at all times
- Provide courteous and professional service under dispatcher direction
2. Wheelchair-Accessible Passenger Service (As Needed)
- Assist passengers with mobility needs, including operating lifts or ramps
- Secure wheelchairs safely and respectfully
3. Contracted Transport Runs
- Complete scheduled transportation contracts reliably and on time
4. General Public Fare Service
- Provide professional, friendly service to the general public when available
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with Elkton and surrounding areas
- Ability to pass (or willingness to obtain) an Enhanced Criminal History Check
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and communication skills
- Calm, friendly, and professional demeanor
- Experience working with children and/or vulnerable populations preferred
- Willingness to complete safeguarding and first-aid training
