Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Site Manager to lead on-site coordination, commissioning, and execution activities for marine HVAC systems at the Bollinger Shipyard in Lockport LA. This role serves as the company’s on-site representative, ensuring equipment installation, testing, and commissioning are completed to contract specifications and quality standards.
You’ll be the key point of contact between the shipyard, Novenco, Russ Equipment and project stakeholders—driving problem-solving, coordination, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site management activities, including coordination, troubleshooting, and facilitation of project work
- Oversee installation, material management, and commissioning of marine HVAC equipment
- Act as the primary on-site contact for the customer and shipyard
- Support warranty claims and service issue resolution
Core Duties
- Verify all equipment is installed per contract requirements and quality standards
- Inspect wiring, connections, and system integration with shipyard teams
- Coordinate with electricians and contractors to resolve installation issues
- Repair or replace defective equipment using available spare parts
- Plan and execute system testing and commissioning (PQT and USCG)
- Coordinate and lead final commissioning activities, ensuring no interference from other work onboard
- Serve as liaison between warehouse, engineering, and shipyard teams for material discrepancies
- Manage and respond to service and warranty calls (many resolved remotely)
- Work with engineering teams to resolve design or quality issues and prevent recurrence
Qualifications
Professional:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field
- Combination of electrical/automation experience preferred
- Proven experience with marine HVAC/R systems commissioning
- Strong troubleshooting and automation skills
Personal:
- Strong communicator with high-level English (written and verbal)
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Calm under pressure with a problem-solving mindset
- Positive attitude with adaptability and integrity
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings when required
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work on site at Bollinger Shipyard in Lockport
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Willingness to work around shipyard schedules (including off-hours for commissioning)
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Must live within reasonable distance from shipyard and willing or willing to commute
Authority & Scope
- Authorized to act on behalf of the company within project scope to ensure successful execution
- Responsible for decision-making in the field aligned with company interests
- Note: Root cause determinations in warranty cases are handled internally

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
