Job Responsibilities: Communicate with RLS Project Managers to understand project roles and requirements. Lead 2 and 3 person survey crews while executing field surveys accurately and efficiently. Supervise survey crew members in proper surveying technique/equipment operations. Provide leadership in vehicle, instrument/equipment care and maintenance. Prepare thorough and accurate field notes.

Required Skills:
Technical Requirements: A survey crew chief employed with RLS must be an exceptional leader and proficient in all aspects of land surveying field work. A strong understanding of methods and standards, proper measurement, and both conventional and GPS equipment operation is mandatory. Experience performing numerous types of surveys including but not limited to boundary surveys, topographical surveys, control surveys, ALTA surveys, route and utility surveys and as-built surveys is required. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record 5 years survey experience 2 years crew chief experience. Proficient with conventional and GPS equipment. Proficient using laptop computers and data collection software. Availability to work out of town and some weekends required.
Desired Skills:
Pipeline route surveys, as-built surveys, 3D Laser Scanning, underground utility marking (utilizing passive frequency, inductive and direct connect locating equipment) and proficient with Microsoft Office.
