HS Science Teacher - Beech Grove City Schools
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must hold a valid High School-level Indiana teaching license/certification in General Science

Preference given to candidates with certification in multiple science disciplines
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning
-
Establish clear expectations for student behavior in a climate of fairness and respect
-
Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction that encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity
-
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
-
Collaborate with Science Department colleagues to design lessons aligned with Indiana State Standards and Employability Skills Standards
-
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for grades and attendance
-
Use both formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
-
Communicate effectively with parents, counselors, administration, and other stakeholders regarding student progress
-
Integrate technology to enhance instruction and student learning
-
Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and appropriate student supervision
-
Participate in professional development opportunities
-
Implement and adhere to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans
