This contract position begins August 5, 2026, and runs through May 25, 2027, offering a consistent, on-site schedule of 35 hours weekly. You'll work closely with approximately 31-32 students, all on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and become a key resource for mental health and student success.
Your expertise will help shape student experiences, foster resilience, and meet the diverse needs of the school community. As the appointed social worker, you’ll play an active role in team collaboration, program planning, and supporting students as they achieve their goals.
Desired skills and experience include:
- Valid professional license or certification as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working in a high school or adolescent setting
- Familiarity with students on IEPs and special education processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for IEP documentation and collaboration
- Experience in providing mental health services and counseling in a school environment
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing procedures (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 31-32 students requiring social work support
- Develop and implement IEP-related goals and interventions
- Deliver direct mental health services, both individual and group counseling
- Accurately document sessions, goals, and progress in accordance with school and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external partners to support student well-being
- Handle Medicaid billing for eligible services
