Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team and drive the efficiency of our supply chain operations. In this role, you will oversee transportation planning, coordinate freight shipments, and manage logistics activities to ensure timely delivery and optimal resource utilization. Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation schedules using transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to optimize freight movement.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools for route planning, tracking shipments, and analyzing transportation data to improve efficiency.
- Oversee dispatching operations for freight carriers, ensuring compliance with schedules and delivery requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, phone etiquette, and clear messaging.
- Support fleet management tasks including vehicle scheduling, maintenance coordination, and tracking using AS400 or similar systems.
- Assist with supply chain analysis by reviewing transportation data, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending process improvements.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles, transportation management systems (TMS), and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software.
- Excellent analysis skills for evaluating shipping data, freight costs, and route efficiencies.
- Effective dispatching abilities combined with strong communication skills to coordinate with carriers and internal teams.
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, freight documentation, and inventory management systems like SyteLine or Oracle Transportation Management.
- Skilled in data entry, typing accuracy, multi-line phone systems, and maintaining detailed records.
- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) providers, fleet management practices, and warehouse operations such as shipping & receiving.
