The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) and Blacktail Deer Foundation (BDF) are seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial leader to serve as a Regional Director. This is an opportunity to grow fundraising revenue, build thriving volunteer chapters, expand membership, cultivate sponsors and donors, and help conserve mule deer, black-tailed deer, and their habitats.
Position Summary
The Regional Director serves as the Foundation's primary field representative and is responsible for fundraising and revenue development within an assigned territory. The position generates revenue through fundraising events, membership sales, sponsorships, donor development, corporate partnerships, and other revenue-generating opportunities.
This remote-based, field-focused position regularly requires travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with members, sponsors, donors, businesses, volunteers, and community partners and to conduct fundraising, membership, and outreach activities away from the Foundation's business offices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and grow fundraising and revenue opportunities throughout the assigned territory, including events, memberships, sponsorships, raffles, auctions, and other fundraising initiatives.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure sponsors, members, donors, businesses, and other supporters to achieve established revenue goals.
- Plan, organize, promote, and conduct fundraising events, including banquets and secondary fundraising activities.
- Recruit, mentor, and support volunteer chapter leaders and develop new chapters and fundraising opportunities.
- Represent MDF/BDF at fundraising events, outdoor expos, chapter meetings, conservation projects, and community events.
- Develop relationships with donors, sponsors, conservation partners, businesses, landowners, and wildlife agencies.
- Independently identify opportunities to increase fundraising revenue, membership, sponsorships, and organizational support throughout the territory.
- Maintain required budgets, reports, CRM records, financial documentation, and event records.
- Ensure compliance with Foundation policies, financial procedures, and event standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic priorities of MDF/BDF.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, sales, business development, volunteer leadership, nonprofit management, or event management.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and achieve fundraising and revenue goals.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Passion for wildlife conservation, ethical hunting, and the mission of MDF/BDF.

- Increase fundraising revenue, membership, sponsorships, and chapter performance.
- Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional volunteers.
- Develop new fundraising opportunities and lasting partnerships throughout the region.
- Represent the Foundation with professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
Travel & Physical Work Requirements
This is a remote-based, field-focused position requiring frequent regional travel to conduct fundraising, membership, sponsorship, event, and relationship-development activities. Travel includes evenings, weekends, overnight travel, extended driving, and occasional air travel.
Candidates must be able to:
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavier items require appropriate assistance or equipment.
- Load, unload, set up, and transport event equipment and merchandise.
- Stand and walk for extended periods during fundraising events.
- Bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Starting at $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Regional Directors are eligible for performance-based incentive compensation based on established fundraising and monetary performance goals.
