Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Schedule
- Alternating Schedule: 4x12s one week / 3x12s the next
- 4-Week Scheduling Cycle
- Monday–Saturday
- Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Late Day Shift: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Dialysis
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with Acute Inpatient Dialysis experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Louisiana. This role is ideal for dialysis nurses who thrive in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment and are passionate about delivering safe, high-quality renal care.
As an Inpatient Dialysis RN, you will provide comprehensive hemodialysis treatment for hospitalized patients with acute and chronic kidney disease while collaborating with nephrologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective inpatient hemodialysis treatments.
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients before, during, and after dialysis.
- Operate and troubleshoot dialysis equipment and machines.
- Cannulate AV fistulas and AV grafts using established protocols.
- Manage and care for temporary and permanent dialysis catheters.
- Administer prescribed medications, fluids, and blood products as ordered.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and respond appropriately to complications.
- Recognize and manage dialysis-related emergencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with nephrologists, hospitalists, ICU teams, and bedside nurses.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and dialysis quality standards.
- Float to nearby facilities as needed based on patient care requirements.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
License
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS Certification
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of recent Inpatient Dialysis RN experience
- Acute Care Hospital experience required
- Hemodialysis experience required
- Experience with:
- AV Fistulas
- AV Grafts
- Dialysis Catheters
- Hemodialysis Machines
- Renal Patient Care
