Sous Chef – Fine Dining/ Michelin Dining Restaurant
We are seeking a passionate, driven, and experienced Sous Chef to join a Michelin-starred culinary team.
In this key leadership role, you will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and senior culinary leadership to support daily kitchen operations, food production, dinner service, and closing procedures. You will help ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, organization, and sanitation.
The ideal candidate is hard-working, detail-oriented, and committed to building a long-term career in fine dining/ Michelin restaurant.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Chef de Cuisine and senior culinary leadership with daily kitchen operations
- Lead food preparation, production, plating, dinner service, and closing procedures
- Maintain Michelin-level standards for food quality, consistency, presentation, timing, and portion control
- Supervise, train, guide, and motivate cooks and junior culinary team members
- Ensure all stations are properly prepared, organized, stocked, and ready for service
- Monitor food handling, storage, labeling, sanitation, and product rotation procedures
- Maintain inventory systems and assist with ordering, receiving, storage, and waste control
- Support butchery and protein preparation, including whole-animal and heritage-protein breakdown
- Reinforce food safety, cleanliness, and workplace standards throughout the kitchen
- Communicate effectively with back-of-house and front-of-house teams
- Support private dining events and elevated service execution
- Help maintain a respectful, disciplined, and positive kitchen environment
- Take ownership of kitchen operations when senior culinary leaders are unavailable
- Assist with staff training, scheduling, performance development, and operational improvements
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fine dining or high-end kitchen
- Previous experience supervising or supporting a professional culinary team
- Strong knowledge of refined cooking techniques and professional kitchen equipment
- Experience with inventory management, ordering, storage systems, and product rotation
- Strong organizational, leadership, and time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective during fast-paced dinner service
- Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness, consistency, and presentation
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, reliability, and professionalism
- Ability to teach, mentor, accept feedback, and continue developing professionally
- Strong communication skills across culinary and restaurant teams
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts
- California Food Handler Certification required
- Food Protection Manager Certification preferred

- Experience working in a fine dining restaurant
- Strong butchery and whole-animal breakdown skills
- Experience working with heritage proteins
- Background in chef-driven tasting-menu or elevated à la carte restaurants
- Experience supporting private dining events
- Proven ability to develop and mentor junior culinary team members
- Long-term interest in growing within a Michelin-level fine dining environment
