Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments
- Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product information
- Handle cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at the end of each shift
- Upsell products and services to enhance the customer experience and increase store sales opportunities
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining organized product presentation
- Conduct product demos when needed to educate customers about new or featured items
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments with high customer interaction
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills in guiding team members and managing daily operations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is essential for smooth transaction processing
- Strong communication skills in bilingual settings are highly valued for serving diverse customer bases
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and retail math for accurate pricing and transactions
- Experience with grocery store operations or cashiering roles that involve retail math, cash handling, and customer service excellence
- Ability to demonstrate basic math skills quickly and accurately while managing multiple transactions
