Sorkin Engineering Services PC ("SES") is a small civil-structural engineering firm looking for a full-time structural engineer. Two to five years of experience is preferred, however entry level candidates will also be considered. Position to start immediately upon finding the right candidate.
Job Description:
Civil-Structural Engineer will provide support to Principal Engineer, Gary Sorkin, on projects ranging from large commercial buildings to smaller residential projects throughout the tri-state area. This is a great learning experience for a junior Civil-Structural Engineer or recent graduate. Job will include (1) providing drafting and modeling support related to structural design plans; (2) preparing supporting calculations and reports related to the structural engineering work being performed; and (3) attending site visits to help document existing conditions (photos, notes, etc.).
Position will be partially remote with 2-3 days required in the office (located in Fairfield, NJ). Additional site-visits will be required. Flexible hours/days can also be accommodated.
Job Requirements:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Required to have taken a Statics, Steel Design, Concrete Design, and Geotechnical Analysis classes.
