We are an established moving and logistics company serving the Phoenix/Mesa metro area, operating as part of a national van line network and handling both household moving and last-mile furniture delivery for major retail partners. We're growing and looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor/Dispatcher to help run day-to-day field operations.
Job Summary
We're seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor/Dispatcher to coordinate daily crew schedules, routes, and truck assignments while ensuring smooth, on-time execution of residential moves and delivery routes. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem-solve on the fly, and knows how to keep crews, customers, and the schedule board all in sync.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage daily dispatch schedules for moving crews and delivery drivers
- Assign trucks, equipment, and personnel to jobs based on crew availability and job requirements
- Communicate with crews throughout the day to manage delays, reroutes, and job changes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding arrival windows and day-of issues
- Monitor job progress and resolve on-the-fly operational problems (equipment issues, staffing gaps, weather delays, etc.)
- Supervise and support crew leads/foremen; help with onboarding and training of new movers/drivers
- Track job completion, paperwork, and inventory documentation for accuracy
- Coordinate with warehouse/storage operations as needed
- Enforce safety standards and company policies in the field
- Help manage relationships with third-party partners (e.g., retail delivery programs)
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, supervision, or moving/trucking operations (moving industry experience strongly preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple moving parts under time pressure
- Clear, confident communicator — comfortable talking to crews, customers, and management
- Proficient with dispatch/scheduling software (or quick to learn new systems)
- Valid driver's license; ability to pass background check
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional evenings as job volume requires
- Leadership presence — able to hold crews accountable while keeping morale up
