- Assist with menu planning to accommodate dietary needs and preferences, supporting nutritional goals
- Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Support food preparation activities, including chopping, cooking, plating, and portioning
- Serve meals efficiently to residents or customers, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members on catering events or special meal services as needed
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly within a food service setting
- Knowledge of menu planning tailored to dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements
- Proficiency in food handling techniques with an emphasis on safety and hygiene practices
- Excellent knife skills for efficient food prep and portion control
- Experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is advantageous
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail during meal preparation and serving tasks
