eNGINE is seeking a Software Test Engineer, who is responsible for the development, execution, and maintenance of software test plans, test cases, and test reporting. The individual will work within a Scrum team to perform software testing activities and must be highly collaborative, technically proficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead testing activities across projects and provide regular status updates
- Test software used in safety-critical medical devices and related applications
- Design, develop, and review test plans and test cases
- Execute and maintain test cases to ensure requirements are met
- Identify, communicate, and help mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle
- Analyze requirements and highlight gaps or ambiguities
- Document and report defects with clear, detailed analysis
- Partner with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Facilitate cross-functional reviews of defects, test plans, and test cases
- Estimate testing effort for assigned work items
- Participate in design, program, and documentation reviews
- Adhere to software release schedules and timelines
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain supporting documentation
- Maintain traceability between requirements and test coverage
- Monitor automated test results and support test automation efforts
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts
- Stay current on software quality best practices and emerging technologies
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of relevant software testing experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead testing efforts in complex environments
- Experience writing SQL queries
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience working with Linux file systems
- Hands-on experience testing APIs and web services using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical communication skills with the ability to present to diverse audiences
- Ability to interpret complex technical information and produce clear documentation
- Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working with data, basic statistics, and test reporting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
